Workshop Series Description:
Session 1 will explore the dynamics of implicit bias, including brain research, decision-making, and de-biasing. We will also discuss stereotypes, media influences, and cultural norms and examine the impact of implicit bias in many settings.
Session 2 will focus on challenges related to communication, decision-making, and profiling. We will explore personal and systemic ways to reduce the impact of bias on workplaces.
Participants will:
- Understand dynamics of implicit bias;
- Increase confidence in discussing implicit bias;
- Identify how bias impacts decisions/interactions;
- Develop skills to de-bias perceptions and interactions.
Attending both sessions is not mandatory, but is encouraged.
Childcare and Spanish interpretation will be available.
A light meal will be served starting at 5:30pm; program will start promptly at 6pm.
